Real life first name: David, but I go by Davo... Sam to EQ friends, though, even in RL
Main Character name: Samanna
Server: Saryrn (from Terris-Thule, by way of Mithaniel Marr)
Guild: Titans of Saryrn

Where in the real life world do you live? Barely OTP (Outside The Perimeter), Atlanta, Georgia

How long have you played EQ? Since just before Luclin... Oct, 2001

What other MMOs have you played? None

What type of work do you do? IT - I support Storage assets and connectivity for Unix servers

How long is your typical gaming session when playing EQ? 4-5 hours 3-4 times a week (raids), 2-3 hours 2-3 times a week (grouping)

What does a typical EQ day consist of for you? I probably spend more time online with out-of-game EQ stuff than in game.

What was the race and class of your very first character? Human Druid, stuck in the moat in Surefall until some kind stranger cast water breathing, ultravision, and levitate on me.

What got you into gaming and what sort of games do you like the most? I will play just about any game. I started RPGs with AD&D in 1979. I started computer games with Scott Adams' Colossal Caves Adventure on a Sol CP/M machine with dual 8" floppies!

What other hobbies or activities do you take part in, other then playing EverQuest? I am a very active Freemason and a Shriner.

What is your highest level in EQ? L 70, 701 AAs

What race and class is your main character? Female Barbarian Shaman

What do you like the most about the class you have chosen for your main character? Total versatility. I can join any group and be what they lack, short of tanking (but I can tank in a pinch, too).

Does your main character worship a deity? The Tribunal

How did you choose your main character's name? I was thinking about Savannah and Shaman, and came up with Samanna... which I'm told basically derives from the root for Shaman.

Which classes in EQ have you NOT played? Besides Samanna, I have only taken an Iksar Shadowknight past level 30.

What is your favorite expansion? Omens of War; I was not really raiding, and the opportunities for groupable upgrades was awesome.

What is your favorite zone? Riftseekers Sanctum - so many mobs, so little time.

What is your favorite npc? That poor little gnome in the Guild Lobby that ports people out all day, but never goes himself.

Which expansion do you like the least? Planes of Power; I was not in a guild able to see much of the content when it was anywhere near new.

Which zone do you like the least? Kedge Keep; I get all lost all the time.

Which npc do you like the least? Bumba; he never wanted to sell to me.

What is the most platinum you have ever spent on purchasing a single item for one of your characters? I spent 28k for the spell Focus of the Seventh.

Do you have an item you no longer use but keep around for nostalgic reasons? If so what is it and why do you keep it? A Broken Arrow, from my Epic 1.0 quest.

What do you like best about EverQuest? The fact that I'm not led down a path of what to do; I can go to any zone, and try to do any thing.

What do you get out of playing EverQuest? Escapism, accomplishment, and friendships with people from around the world... some of whom I have since met.

Describe your best experience from playing EverQuest? Defeating the High Priest and Emperor Ssraeshza with my 'family' guild... about 14 months ago.

Do you run or work for an EverQuest Fan Site? Yes; I started collecting information that I didn't find easy to find, put together, or otherwise understand as presented, from various sources... this eventually became Samanna's Reference Desk, and the Shaman Community moved to forums that Gloriana and I set up as The Spirit Realm.
