Real life first name: Amanda Forum handle: Jetta_Starr
Main Character name: Jetta Starr
Server: Drinal (Tarew Marr)
Guild: Quest for Fellowship

Where in the real life world do you live? Jackson, MS

How long have you played EQ? 3 years

What other MMOs have you played? Ragnarok

What type of work do you do? Computer Technician

How long is your typical gaming session when playing EQ? 3 hours

What does a typical EQ day consist of for you? I try not to have typical days on EQ. I don't like to do the same thing night after night so I try to keep it mixed up among questing, tradeskills, raiding, progression tasks, and helping out guildies.

What was the race and class of your very first character? Troll Warrior. I tried my hand at playing a few years before I actually settled into it: I played a warrior because I thought it would be easiest, and a troll for the regen. I was warned by lesser races to stay away from the yellow-con skeletons because they'd eat me for lunch, but I scoffed and vanquished them with no trouble! Unfortunately there were a lot more snakes than skeletons, and not being used to the controls I was constantly frustrated because I couldn't see what I was trying to kill. EQ went back into the box, and when I later took it up to play 'for real' I rolled a gnome so those pesky snakes wouldn't have the upper hand anymore!

What got you into gaming and what sort of games do you like the most? My older brother got me into gaming. Tabletop roleplaying with a group of friends is still my favorite way to play.

What other hobbies or activities do you take part in, other than playing EverQuest? Recently my husband and I have taken up kayaking. Reading is my longest-running hobby, and the most time consuming after Everquest. I like to fiddle around with programming, too: websites and databases mostly.

What is your highest level in EQ? 70

What race and class is your main character? Gnome Enchanter

What do you like the most about the class you have chosen for your main character? No matter what other classes are in the group, I can always contribute with something that I enjoy. Pulling, charming, crowd control, it never gets old!

Does your main character worship a deity? No.

How did you choose your main character's name? When I created this character, I had a character in a live action game who was named Jetara. After I tried several names that were rejected, I decided to be lazy and "adopt" that name, except it didn't sound very gnome-like. The shortened version, Jetta, fit perfectly I thought. Despite what most people think, she's not named after the car.

Which classes in EQ have you NOT played? Bard, Beastlord, Berserker, Magician, Necromancer, Paladin, Ranger, Shadow Knight, Shaman, Wizard.

What is your favorite expansion? Lost Dungeons of Norrath

What is your favorite zone? Estate of Unrest (closely followed by Tirranun's Delve, but Unrest was my first love).

What is your favorite npc? Tabben Bromal: he was the first tinker merchant I got to know.

Which expansion do you like the least? This is tough to say, because I've enjoyed all of the expansions so far. The thing that bothers me about certain expansions (DoN and DoD come to mind) is that people tend to flock to only a certain aspect of the expansion, and I hate repeating the same content over and over, no matter what the rewards.

Which zone do you like the least? Another tough one for me. I really don't dislike any zones that I can think of, at most I'm indifferent to some of them.

Which npc do you like the least? Equestrielle, I don't know if you're counting vicious onsters as NPC's, but this beast killed me in Lesser Faydark at a tender age and I've never forgotten it.

What is the most platinum you have ever spent on purchasing a single item for one of your characters? It's been a long time since I bought gear, but I believe it may have been around 60k.

Do you have an item you no longer use but keep around for nostalgic reasons? If so what is it and why do you keep it? Yes, I keep my epic 1.0. I didn't complete it that long ago, but it was long enough that it was a long and difficult road for me to earn it. Primarily, it's one's epic: you can't just destroy something like that.

What do you like best about EverQuest? EQ is a unique community. Any night of the week I can log on and enjoy playing a game with friends, but if I don't want to log on then I don't have to and no one thinks anything of it. It's also nice that many of the members of my guild community live across the country (and world) and are happy to host their guildies for mini-vacations (or post-hurricane havens).

What do you get out of playing EverQuest? Entertainment, community, and a lot of practice in patience and tolerance.

Describe your best experience from playing EverQuest? In Neriak 3rd gate there's a little troll named Gribnor the Small that enchanters with their 1.0's probably remember. When it came time for me to prove my worth by defeating the Small and his two Thugs, my husband and I trekked down to the 3rd gate and got set up with trepidation. I scouted the run several times so I could pull him to the zoneline without hesitation, we psyched ourselves up, I cast my pet and went to get Gribnor. After a heart-pounding run back to the zone, I turned to find Gribnor and his Thugs with no adds, so we engaged. It still stands out as the most exciting fight of my EQ career. At the end of it, my husband was dead, I was nearly, and my little pet hung on by the merest thread to hack the last few hit points from our opponent. Like watching sports, the Hail Mary's make everything else worthwhile.

Do you run or work for an EverQuest Fan Site? Yes! At www.jettastarr.com I have a couple of pages with AA information, planar raid info, and links to every EQ resource I could find on the internet.
