Real life first name: Michael
Forum handle: Unmei
Main Character name: Unmei
Server: 7th Hammer (Formerly Lanys T'vyl)
Guild: Memento Reejeryn

Where in the real life world do you live? Boston MA

How long have you played EQ? Since release.

What other MMOs have you played? DAoC, WoW, Puzzle Pirates (Arr)

What type of work do you do? I do system monitoring for an internet company, so it's either quiet messageboard surfing time, or insane busy crisis resolving time.

How long is your typical gaming session when playing EQ? Typically 3-4 hours.

What does a typical EQ day consist of for you? There's a 'typical day'? Somedays I dash on just in time for (or late for) a raid, other days it's log it, get pounced for a group, others, the ol' LFG flag comes out while I work on research (Ngreth is a sadist. =P )

What was the race and class of your very first character? Human Rogue

What got you into gaming and what sort of games do you like the most? I got sucked in Ultima III way the hell back in the day when a friend introduced me to it. I have a softspot for fantasy 'RPGs' to this day.

What other hobbies or activities do you take part in, other then playing EverQuest? I read a lot, play various other video games, watch a chunk of anime and do my best to get out and enjoy the great outdoors. That and being a vaguely sociable person with a house and a job takes up most of my time.

What is your highest level in EQ? 70

What race and class is your main character? Human Enchanter

What do you like the most about the class you have chosen for your main character? The ability to make the best of a bad situation.

Does your main character worship a deity? Nope.

How did you choose your main character's name? My other name candidates were already taken, and I'd been watching a lot of Vision of Escaflowne at the time. The word 'Unmei' pops up there a lot.

Which classes in EQ have you NOT played? Depending on your definition of 'played' (I have a slew of characters that never made it past level 5 or so), I've never played a druid, paladin, SK, Beastlord, or Berserker.

What is your favorite expansion? DoDh, actually, once I got the hang of it. I also got a real kick out of LoY.

What is your favorite zone? For pure ambiance, I'm still not sure anything beats the Plane of Torment. Emotionally, I have a soft spot for North Ro, since it's where both of my level 70's grew up. Kedge Keep holds a lot of fond memories too.

What is your favorite npc? Gimlik Cogboggle. The original escortable gnome.

Which expansion do you like the least? Not to seem a follower, but I'm afraid GoD takes the cake here.

Which zone do you like the least? Whichever one I've spent too much time in lately.

Which npc do you like the least? Any red-con NPC that might or might not be too high to mez. Ugh.

What is the most platinum you have ever spent on purchasing a single item for one of your characters? I spent 90k for an Apatite back when OoW first came out. I think that was the winner.

Do you have an item you no longer use but keep around for nostalgic reasons? If so what is it and why do you keep it? My bank is overflowing with old items, but the real prize is my Rod of Insidious Glamour. It was the first really 'good' item Unmei ever acquired, and he used it for AGES.

What do you like best about EverQuest? The variety of people, places and things to do.

What do you get out of playing EverQuest? A sense of accomplishment, of helping other folks out, and just general relaxation.

Describe your best experience from playing EverQuest. This is a toughie. I think my fondest memory is breaking into the area known (to me, at any rate) as 4C in the new Cazic Thule. This was back around level 58, or so, and it took my group half a dozen or so tries spread out over a few days to finally manage it. It was the kind of challenge that comes from a mix of different and interesting ways to make an area difficult.

Do you run or work for an EverQuest Fan Site? Nope. :)
