EQ - Loving it after all these years – Discussion started by Community Member Email
Back in my day, we bought Voodoo2 cards just to play the Beta. Those who could afford it bought two and went SLI. Sleep was something to be avoided. Classes were meant to be skipped. Sports? who needed them? you could buy some bait and fish! If you wanted realism, takeout from Captain D's fit the bill.

But seriously, EQ is not the same as it once was. It has changed faces over the years, improved and expanded beyond its original borders. People on development have come and gone, there influence still resides in the history of the game itself. Even players have left and returned, some left with regrets, others with joy at a new look on life.

I myself have gone through several stages of how I play. I went from the geeky college kid who didn't leave his room, to one that eventually got back out and played sporadically, the boyfriend to engaged to spouse and father who does not have as much time as I once did, but still enjoys it as always. EQ should never be about the gear, but about exploration and friends. I have fond memories of both, and make new ones each day. The best part about all of this is I feel confident to being able to let others know I will be a while, and that they too understand the responsibilities of family first (if they do not, they will one day).

Anyways, I thought the Vet boards needed a positive message. Give the devs some slack, they've been really busy this last year. A lot has changed in the game, and they keep trying to make improvements - the biggest change being their open interaction with the playerbase. If you want something that does not change, go grab some offline software from a defunct company no longer in business. There are plenty of those around. Thankfully EQ is still the best MMPOG around, have kept it reasonably priced, and are moving to better business models (1 all inclusive content expansion per year).

How to come back to EverQuest - Discussion started by Community Member dragonfiregum
Hi, I am a long time player of EverQuest. I started in the original EverQuest and took a break after PoP then came back and played till DoN. But how do you come back or even start fresh in a game like EverQuest?

What effects/mods are important to you? - Discussion started by Community Member Rihardo
It's pretty obvious from all of the complaints floating around that itemization could use a lot of improvement. I was thinking maybe it'd help if people posted what exactly they were looking for as far as effects go, and maybe if people posted a nice clean list of what they wanted it'd help us see those wind up on items.

The Potion Belt Window: A request – discussion started by Community member KopiKat
Would it be possible for us to get those neat little white-ish/grey recast bars on the actual icons in the potion belt window? You know, the ones that appear over the item's icon when you use it and decrease until the item is usable again? It would be very nice to have those on the icons in the potion belt window, that way those of us who keep the window open can know how long till they can click a potion or whatever again.

That would be a great addition in my opinion, hopefully it wouldn't be too hard to code.
