Vegas Fan Faire Preparation Tips

Don't forget to Pre-Register
You have until midnight PDT on Friday, July 20th to Pre-Register for Fan Faire. If you pre-register you will receive a unique in-game item designed exclusively for Fan Faire attendees!

Bring Yourself, Family and Friends!
We'd miss you if you didn't join us. Fan Faire is the ideal opportunity to meet in-game friends in the real world. We often see guild having side get together at Fan Faires.

Bring a Photo ID
You will need a Photo ID at airports, train stations, hotels, and at Fan Faire registration.

Bring Tickets and Confirmation Numbers
Don't forget your Tickets and Confirmation Numbers for airports, train stations, hotels, shows, etc.

Bring Money, Money, Money
Hey, it's Vegas, there are plenty of places to spend money; hordes of unique shops, many shows, oh and rumor has it you can drink and gambling there too. Don't forget to bring plenty of cash and/or your credit cards!

Bring Ideas and Questions
There will be plenty of opportunities for you to chat with SOE Employees. To help remember what you want to discuss with them, jot down your notes in a book of sorts. It may also help to have a print out you can give to them so they can take it back to San Diego with them.

Bring Costumes
We encourage everyone to bring costumes. It's fun seeing everyone dress up as their favorite characters from SOE games. Please note that there are some restrictions on costumes. Masks or heavy make up are not allowed in the casino or public areas of the property. In addition, the hotel does not allow weapons (steel, wood, or any other simulated weapon that may pose a danger to yourself or someone else) in any public area. If you are found with a dangerous weapon in your possession in a public area, you will be asked to return the item to your room immediately.

Bring a Camera
One of the best parts about Fan Faire is bragging to others, during or after) about how much fun you had so you'll want to take plenty of pictures!

Bring a Cell Phone
Vegas is a pretty big place. Make sure you have a cell phone or other ways contact other members of your party or people that you are trying to meet up with.

Bring Business or Greeting cards and Resumes
Who were you again? That's a question that seems to get asked a lot after Fan Faires and other events when we receive a Private Message on the forums or an email from people we that we meet. Bring your business cards and resumes. It's always nice to trade business and other type of cards with other attendees and SOE employees. Also, there will be opportunities for you to speak to our Human Resource department about jobs opportunities at SOE.

Bring your Laptop
You know you want to play during downtimes! Also, it comes in handy when participating in Live Quests and other activities.

Bring a Good Mood and Attitude
We are throwing this party for you! Come prepared to have fun, get into deep constructive conversations, and to meet other members of the SOE Community. Don't show up as a party pooper!

Additional things to remember to bring:

  • Swimming gear

  • Sun screen

  • Sun glasses

  • A pair (or two) of comfortable shoes

  • Good luck – nobody needs a jinx when gambling!
