To celebrate the 9th Anniversary of EverQuest®, the EverQuest Team is hosting the "You're in Our World Now" video contest.

"You're in Our World Now!"

From Monday, March 3, 2008, (12:01 am, US Pacific Time) through Wednesday, April 3, 2008 at (11:59 pm, US Pacific Time), the EverQuest Team will be hosting "You're in Our World Now" video contest.

Using in game imagery, sounds and their special skills, EverQuest community movie-makers have this opportunity to show us why they enjoying playing EverQuest by participating in this official EverQuest contest.

Create a video that highlights the best of EverQuest!

When filming the video, please keep the following in mind:

  1. Include a wide variety of zones, NPCs, and gameplay features.

  2. The video should display adventuring as well as highlight the community aspect of the game. (i.e. groups, guilds, raids)

  3. This video is to highlight the game, not individual achievement.

  4. Make sure you have PC names off. NPC name off is optional.

  5. If you add text to the video, be sure to check the spell and grammar.



How to Enter:

    View the Official Contest Rules to determine eligibility for this contest before submitting an entry.

    Please read all of the contest details before submitting an entry to make ensure that your entry is valid.

    Submissions should be sent in an e-mail to EQContests@soe.sony.com. Be sure to include all of the following information with your submission:

    • Video Description: The description should tell a story about what is being displayed in the video. Also, include which sound and music files were used for the video.

    • Hyperlink to where the movie file is hosted - All files must be hosted externally and be made available to download. Do not attach the movie to the entry e-mail.

    • In Game Character name and information is optional but will be included if submitted.

    Images:
    Do not include any images in the movie that are copyrighted. Official EQ images are permitted.

    Sound:
    Voiceovers are permitted, however the voiceovers cannot be sound clips from copyrighted media. They can only be personal original ones. In addition, voiceovers must remain within the Terms of Service Agreement.

    Music:
    The only music and sound that are permitted for this contest are EverQuest ones, including the EverQuest theme song. These files can be found in the EverQuest directory:

    • The mp3 music files are stored here (default path): C:\Program Files\Sony\EverQuest

    • The wav sound founds are stored here (default path): C:\Program Files\Sony\EverQuest\sounds

    Format, Length and Size:
    Entries must be externally-hosted Windows Media (.wmv), QuickTime (.mov) or AVI (.avi) format video (under 100 MB) of five (5) minutes in length or less (including credits). Submissions with which require non-generic plug-in applications may not be opened or considered for entry. If the video can not be easily viewed without needing non-generic plug-ins, it may be rejected.

    Credits:
    If others assisted with the making of your movie, feel free to give them credits for the movie. Unfortunately, we will not be able to reward them with prize though. Only the person submitting the video will be rewarded.


The Selection Process:
    A panel of judges will review the videos and select a winner. The panel of judges consists of members from EverQuest's Community, Development, Public Relations, and other management teams. In case of a tie, the judges will determine which movie best fits the theme of EverQuest and the contest.

    When viewing the entries, the judges will be looking for the quality of the storyline, showcase of the character, cinematography, special effects, editing, and creative use of the sounds, music and other in game resources.

    Character and item names are subject to final approval of SOE and must be consistent with the game Terms of Service Agreement.

    After the judging has been completed, the final approval process begins. An email will be sent to the potential winners and they will be required to submit a response within a specific allotted period.

    Once the final approval process ends, the winners will be announced on the EQPlayers website on or around Monday, April 17, 2008.

OFFICIAL RULES

NO PURCHASE NECESSARY TO ENTER OR WIN.

Participation constitutes entrant's full and unconditional agreement to and acceptance of these Official Rules. The EverQuest ("EQ") "You're In Our World Now!" Contest ("Contest") begins at 12:00:01 a.m. Pacific Standard Time ("PST") on March 3, 2008 and shall end as of 11:59 p.m. PST on April 3, 2008 ("Contest Period"). Contest is sponsored by Sony Online Entertainment LLC, 8928 Terman Court, San Diego, CA 92121 ("Sponsor"). Submissions received after Contest Period will not be judged. All Winners will be announced on or about April 17, 2008.

Eligibility: Any individual who is as current subscriber in good standing to EQ as of March 2, 2008, is eligible to enter. Only the original author who created the submission may enter or win (in the event of a dispute as to authorship, Sponsor reserves the right to disqualify any entry or winner; Sponsor's decisions are final). Contest is open only to natural persons who are legal residents of the fifty (50) United States (including the District of Columbia) for the duration of the Contest. Void in Puerto Rico, Guam, all other U.S. and all foreign territories and possessions and wherever prohibited or restricted by law. Contest may only be entered from and in eligible jurisdictions. Entrants must be eighteen (18) years of age or older at time of entry in order to participate. Employees, officers, directors, and agents of Sponsor, its parent company, affiliates, subsidiaries, advertising, promotion, and fulfillment agencies, their immediate family members and persons living in their same household, are not eligible to participate in the Contest. All federal, state, and local laws and regulations apply.

How to Enter: To enter, review the requirements posted here and transmit an e-mail to EQContests@soe.sony.com with the following information: Subject line: EverQuest You're In Our World Now! Contest, your name, your mailing address, your EQ community/forum handle, your e-mail address, video title and description along with a link to a website hosting a Windows Media (.wmv), QuickTime (.mov) or AVI (.avi) format video (under 100MB) of five (5) minutes in length or less (including credits) within the body of your e-mail highlighting the broad adventure potential within the world of EverQuest. Additionally, entries may (but are not required to) include voiceovers or music to supplement a nomination, however any such addition must be an original, uncopyrighted work and only music from EverQuest (located at C:\Program Files\Sony\EverQuest or C:\Program Files\Sony\EverQuest\Sounds) is permitted. Submissions posted on any game-related website forum will not be accepted for entry. Entry must be an original work. Submissions which require non-generic, plug-in applications will not be opened or considered for entry. With the exception of Sponsor materials which are included in the entry (according to the terms and conditions for fan site materials, as set forth in the Station Terms of Service), all content of the video must be the entrant's original design and creation, executed solely by the entrant. The content of the video must not be subject to the rights of any third parties, other than Sponsor. The content may not be offensive or otherwise unsuitable for us, as determined in Sponsor's sole discretion. Entrants not complying with these requirements will be disqualified. Entrants must comply with the EverQuest End User License Agreement, Station Terms of Service, Privacy Policy, and all EverQuest rules, regulations, and policies. Entrants not complying with these requirements will be disqualified. By participating in the Contest, you are granting Sponsor an irrevocable right and license to publish, use, edit, and display any or all of the content in your submission, without further approval, without territorial, time, or other limitations, for any and all purposes, including, but not limited to, marketing, advertising, and promotional purposes.

Determination of Winner: Eligible entrants will be judged by a panel of judges, consisting of members of Sponsor's community relations team, development team and marketing team, according to the criteria set forth below, and whose decisions are final and binding in all respects. The panel judges will use the following criteria in determining a ranking of the top submissions (the number of which is at Sponsor's discretion, based upon the number and quality of entries)("Finalists"): the panel judges will use a 0-100 point scale, with 0-35 points for originality, 0-35 points for creativity, and 0-30 points for thematic content consistent with the boundless possibilities for adventure within the world of EverQuest (including, for example, storylines, characters, cinematography, special effects, editing and/or the embodiment of the EverQuest adventurer spirit). Sponsor will select up to seven (7) Finalists from all eligible submissions. Finalists will only be selected from those eligible entries meeting the judging criteria set forth above and, if no entry meets the criteria set forth above, in the panel's sole and absolute discretion, then no winner shall be chosen. The eligible Finalist receiving the most votes from the judges will be the potential winner (the "Winner"), subject to verification or eligibility by Sponsor. In the event of a tie, the original panel of Sponsor's judges will be the deciding factor. Judges may additionally designate Honorable Mentions for publication on the EverQuest website or forums at their discretion.

Limit one (1) entry per person during the duration of the promotion. Any attempt at entry except as above stated is void. Sponsor reserves the right to disqualify any person or email address that submits multiple entries. Any submission of robotic, automatic or programmed entries, or any entries submitted by agencies, other third parties, or through other unapproved methods are void.

Description of Prizes: Grand Prize Package: One (1) Grand Prize Package consisting of one (1) Sony DCR-SR200 40GB Handycam® Camcorder, one (1) set of official EverQuest Secrets of Faydwer dice, one (1) in-game title for Grand Prize Winner's character and a specialized EQ forum rank (Approximate Retail Value: $751.98). Second Place Prize Package(s): Up to three (3) Second Place Prize Packages each consisting of one (1) Sony DSC-H7/B Cyber-shot® Digital Camera, one (1) set of official EverQuest Secrets of Faydwer dice, one (1) in-game title for Second Prize Winner's character and a specialized EQ forum rank (Approximate Retail Value: $351.98). Third Place Prize Package(s): Up to three (3) Third Place Prize Packages each consisting of one (1) Sony DVP-FX810 Portable DVD Player and one (1) set of official EverQuest Secrets of Faydwer dice (Approximate Retail Value: $151.98). Maximum ARV of all Prizes: US$2263.86. The Prize winners will be displayed (subject to Sponsor guidelines, standards, and practices, and in a manner and location determined by Sponsor in its discretion) on the http://everquest.station.sony.com website and/or any other EverQuest-related website in Sponsor's sole discretion.

General Limitations for all prizes: No alternative prize, cash, or other substitution is permitted except by Sponsor in the event of prize unavailability. Prize is non-transferable. All federal, state, and local taxes are the sole responsibility of Winner. A total of up to seven (7) prizes will be awarded. Maximum ARV of all Prizes: US$2263.86. The potential winners will be notified by e-mail or first class mail within five (5) days of the conclusion of the judging. Each potential winner will have five (5) days from notification to accept the prize by e-mail or by U.S. mail to the address specified in the notification. Prizes will be delivered within approximately six (6) to eight (8) weeks of verification/confirmation of winners.

Requirements of Winner: Each potential Finalist is required to sign and return a release of liability, declaration of eligibility, and where lawful, publicity consent agreement, within five (5) days of acknowledged notification. By agreeing to become a Finalist, winner agrees to the use of his or her name, voice and/or likeness, and submitted artwork, for the purpose of advertising, trade, or promotion without further compensation, unless prohibited by law. If a selected potential winner cannot be contacted, is ineligible (under these rules or due to a failure to comply with any of the other applicable policies, licenses, rules, and terms of service, or fails to timely return the completed and executed releases/agreements as required, potential winner status may be forfeited and an alternate potential winner may, at Sponsor's discretion, be selected.

General Terms and Conditions: By participating in the Contest, entrant agrees that under no circumstances, including, but not limited to, negligence, shall Sponsor, its officers, directors, employees, shareholders, agents, successors, and assigns (the "Released Parties") be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising out participation in the Contest, even if any or all of the Released Parties have been advised of the possibility of such damages. Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion or limitation of incidental or consequential damages, therefore such exclusions may not apply to you. By participating in the Contest, entrant waives any and all rights to bring any claim or action related to his/her participation in any forum beyond one (1) year after the first occurrence of the kind of act, event, condition or omission upon which the claim or action is based. By entering, each entrant agrees to be bound by these Official Rules and the decisions of Sponsor, which shall be final. Sponsor reserves the right to disqualify any person, entry, or e-mail address that Sponsor determines to be in violation of any term contained in these Official Rules. Sponsor, its parent companies, affiliates, subsidiaries, advertising, promotion, and fulfillment agencies, and legal advisors, and the respective employees, officers, directors, shareholders, agents, and representatives of each, are not responsible for and shall not be liable for: (i) late, lost, delayed, damaged, misdirected, stolen, incomplete, illegible, unintelligible or postage-due entries, notices, releases, forms, affidavits, or other correspondence; (ii) telephone, electronic, hardware or software program, network, Internet, or computer malfunctions, failures, interruptions or difficulties of any kind; (iii) failed, incomplete, garbled, or delayed computer transmissions; (iv) any condition caused by events beyond the control of the Sponsor that may cause the Contest to be disrupted or corrupted; (v) any injuries, losses, or damages of any kind arising in connection with or as a result from participation in the Contest or arising from the entrant's access to and use of the Internet site http://everquest.station.sony.com (and all related websites of Sponsor), including without limitation, personal injury, death, and property damage, and claims based on publicity rights, defamation, or invasion of privacy, to the extent permitted by law; or (vi) any errors in any materials associated with the Contest. Sponsor reserves the right to cancel, suspend and/or modify the Contest if any problem corrupts the administration, security, or operation of the Contest, as determined by Sponsor in its sole discretion. Sponsor reserves the right in its sole discretion to disqualify any individual it finds to be tampering with the entry process or the operation of the Contest or to be acting in violation of these Official Rules or in an unsportsmanlike or disruptive manner. Any attempt by any person to undermine the legitimate operation of the Contest may be a violation of criminal and civil law, and, should such an attempt be made, Sponsor reserves the right to seek damages from any such person to the fullest extent permitted by law. Sponsor's failure to enforce any term of these Official Rules shall not constitute a waiver of that provision.

Disputes: Contest is governed by the laws of the United States and the State of California. As a condition of participating in the Contest, entrant agrees that any and all actions or proceedings related to the Contest shall be exclusively brought in the County of San Diego, State of California (if under state law) or the Southern District of California (if under Federal law), and the parties agree not to raise in connection therewith, and hereby waive, any defenses based upon the venue, the inconvenience of the forum, the lack of personal jurisdiction, the sufficiency of service of process or the like in any such action or suit brought in the State of California.

Winner List and Official Rules: A winner's list will be posted on the web site at http://everquest.station.sony.com, or an underlying page thereto, on the World Wide Web at the conclusion of the Contest.
