A "couch potato" path to leveling – Discussion started by Community Member maccabre
Suppose at 51 you set your xp bar to 90% regular and 10% to aa, and left it there until you dinged 80. How many aa would you have? Would it be roughly 500? (Which has been stated by many to be the minimum really needed at 80 as supposedly SoF is tuned for this.)

I understand that this question is probably not completely answerable as aa xp depends so much on the con of the mobs to the highest group member, whereas regular xp is not as strongly affected.

I also understand the argument that overall power is improved most rapidly by going 100% to one and then the other, switching around at different points. But I'm looking for the lazy "couch potato" division, where I don't have to really think about it much, just set and forget.

So anyone have any experience with this? Anyone out there who's actually done this, and if so how many aa did you have when you hit 70 or 75 or 80? of course with the modest recent acceleration in aa xp, the answer will change a little, but you all get the idea.

What's your weirdest two-box combo? – Discussion started by Community Member Skwishamil
I'm kind of an Alt-Junkie: 2 accounts with 16 toons on one server, levels 62 to 80. Lately I've eschewed the optimal/traditional combinations of pairings, in favor of Magician (Level 6 + Monk (Level 63), and have found it surprisingly fun and effective.

The monk adds enough DPS so that the mage never needs to med, and the mobs die fast enough so that the tanking monk doesn't require a healer. Admittedly, I'm not going after mobs that are uber for my level, but since I'm undergeared (from spreading my resources among 16 characters and not grouping with others), I wouldn't be doing bleeding-edge content even with standard combos. I'm only in it for what I consider fun (That statement would probably be considered blasphemous to a lot of posters on the Veteran's Forums)

Anyway, I wondered if anybody else has interesting ideas/experiences/stories about unusual duos.

How often should Hybrids & Bards get disciplines? – Discussion started by Community Member darkpoet29
I'm not suggesting multiple discs per level or anything, but I wouldn't mind seeing something that drains Yellow Juice every expansion. I can't speak for the other classes, but bards' last disc was Thousand Blades (which is awesome) during the DoDH era.

Your thoughts?

Bandolier Changes – Discussion started by Community Member maccabre
I'm sure this has been asked for before, but would it be possible to have the bandolier also change your powersource slot?

New Kinds of Weaponry – Discussion started by Community Member Gnomereaper

  • Flame throwers: I know this is "medival fantasy," however the Byzantines did have flame throwers

  • Crossbows: Historically one of the first automated weapons that could be used by even the simplest minded peasant to kill with sheer minutes of training to fire and reload. Dungeons and Dragons uses crossbows a lot as a part of builds.

  • Slings: Another blunt throwing item, a way to make throwing dps a lot better. To be honest, I think especially that flame throwers would be a neat effect for in game. What are your thoughts on new weaponry types in EQ?
