Choosing an EverQuest Server

Welcome back to EverQuest! It's been a while, hasn't it?

Now that you're back, you have the tough choice of either hopping right back in with your favorite old character, or starting a new one. And if you decide to start a new one, you might be wondering which server is best for you to play on. We hope this guide will help you make that decision.

If you have friends who are currently playing, then great! Start up a new character on their server and before long you'll be grouping with the best of them.

If you're coming back solo, or with a group of friends who aren't already playing, you have a few options to consider before choosing a server.

*Antonius Bayle is the server set up to support players in or closer to Europe, where you will probably find more players online during peak EU times as opposed to US servers.

A Regular server is just that; regular. You'll find the majority of our players on one of these servers. There is no player versus player combat, except under certain circumstances, nor is it requested that you roleplay as your character.

PvP Server

  • Zek

If you're interested in a more aggressive gaming style, Player Vs. Player might be for you. On a PvP server, any player can attack any other player, with a few restrictions, defined by the PvP ruleset.

The Zek Server is a new server that was created to combine the PvP worlds of Rallos, Sullon, Tallon and Vallon Zek PvP servers. The ruleset followed is that of Rallos Zek. On this server, everyone has the ability to attack each other subject to a 4 level limit. For instance, a level 45 person may attack or be attacked by anyone from level 41 through 49.

There are also options for PvP combat on all other servers: Player Duels and in the Arenas.

Although rare, if a player would like to take the path of full PvP on a server other than Zek, you can speak with the Priesthood of Discord. Please be aware that these steps are permanent and you will not be able to receive beneficial spells from non-PvP players.

Roleplaying Preferred Server

  • Firiona Vie

For those more inclined to immerse themselves fully in a game, to become their character and bring them to life, the Roleplaying Preferred server might be for you.

Progression Server

  • The Combine

And finally, for those who want to take a turn back in time, there is the Progession server. This server was created in 2006 to give players a chance to relive the early parts of the EverQuest storyline. Not all of the expansions were active on it initially. Instead, each expansion is unlocked through the actions of the players. The Combine server is currently up to The Burning Sea expansion.

You can track the progress of this server via the timelines that are available on the EverQuest Players website here.
