Help Us Make the Forums Safe

The Community Relations Managers, Community Relations Representatives and the Volunteer Moderators do everything they can to ensure the threads and posts on the forums follow the posted policies; however things do slip past them from time to time.  This is where your help is requested!  You can help by reporting threads and posts that violate the policies.  Reporting the abuse sends messages to the Community Team and the volunteers to let them know that there is a naughty post in need of attention.  Reporting is very easy and your privacy is 100% assured.

While reading the posts of a thread you will find in the bottom right corner, between the body of the post and the signature of the poster (if they have a signature) the “Report this post to a moderator” link.

Report Link

Clicking on this link will open up a dialogue box in which you can comment on the thread or post you are reporting.  Leaving a comment will help the moderators know exactly what violation they are looking for and determining a resulting action

.Comments

Once you have made your comments, hit send and you are done!  Your report with comments will be sent to the moderators who are the only ones who will see the report and your comments or your name for that matter!  Your identity as the one to report a thread or post to the moderators is not made public in any way.  By reporting a naughty forum violation you have taken a step to helping keep YOUR forums a safe, fun and great place to visit.  Thanks for helping out!

Read on for some information about the forum policies.  This will help you decide what may be considered a naughty thread or post.

For Your Safety and Enjoyment

We find Community very important to all of our games and provide forums for the community to use.  Posting on the forums is a privilege given to all of our community members and we strive to keep them a safe and enjoyable place.  In general, we allow posts regarding any material written in a courteous and mature manner, providing that it is on-topic for the forum to which it is posted. This includes material that disagrees with the way the games are operated. We do not interfere with the communication of thoughts and ideas as long as the presentation is constructive and appropriate for all those capable of reading the forum.

In order to keep the forums safe and enjoyable for users 13 years of age and up, we do have policies in place.  Examples of things that are NOT permissible to post:

Advertising

  • Attacks or insults towards others on the board.
  • Name-calling, harassment, or threats.
  • Obscenity, vulgarity, profanity or sexually explicit content.
  • Posts attacking religion, race, nation, gender, or sexual orientation.
  • Posting comments in threads for the purpose of drawing attention to another thread on a different subject.
  • Making replies to posts that do not pertain to or are irrelevant to the original topic.
  • Trolling the forums.
  • Soliciting for guild membership on the general discussion boards.
  • Using the official forums as a staging ground for creating general unrest within the game or forums, such as sit-ins, polls, petitions, etc.
  • Using the official forums as a place for advertising of any kind. This rule does not apply to any Station Exchange forums.
  • Posts about Customer Service.

Guild Bashing

Disregarding the posted forum policies could result in actions such as:

  • Editing of the post
  • Removal of posting privileges
  • Deletion of the post/thread
  • Closing of the thread
  • Account warnings
  • Suspension from the forums and possibly the game as well
  • Banishment from the forums and possibly the game as well
  • Legal Action (I.e. contacting law enforcement personnel in regard to a threat)

Those who violate the rules of the boards may or may not receive any warning before action is taken. Philosophically and administratively, there is no difference between conduct in-game and conduct on the Official Forums.
Make sure you are aware of ALL of the forum policies.  You can find them on the official forums.
