Where in the real life world do you live?
I am originally from a little town in Georgia outside of Savannah called Pooler, but as of right now I live in Biddeford, Maine where my wife is from.

How long have you played EQ?
I started playing EQ on November 19, 2001, which just happens to be my 21st birthday, but I didn't actually really start hardcore playing 'til a couple of months later. The game was originally bought because my ex-wife (whom I was married to at that time) wanted to try it out. Seems she wasn't too impressed with the game I was playing at the time, Ultima Online.

What other MMOs have you played?
As I said above I played UO from June, 1999, with the computer I got for a graduation present, but was introduced to it my friend Jeremy in the late part of 1998. I've also tried WoW but was displeased with the over all game. I also played Star Wars: Galaxies for a very short period right after it was released.

What type of work do you do?
I am an apprentice pipefitter/plumber. Mostly work in industrial plants like paper mills, computer chip factories, and chemical reducing plants that produce medicine additives to lower cholesterol and control high blood pressure.

How long is your typical gaming session when playing EQ?
I don't really have a typical gaming session. I could play anywhere from 2 hours to a full 24 hours depends on work and wut's going on win the real world.

What does a typical EQ day consist of for you?
Usually, I'll log in and look to see if the guild is doing anything as a whole. My wife and I play together a lot so if she's logged on we'll go find a group together and grind out some AA's or XP. Otherwise, I'll try to get into a grouped with guildies or try to do something solo.

What was the race and class of your very first character?
Well there in lies a loaded question. The very first Character I ever tried was a Wood Elf Ranger that lasted all of about 30 minutes. Then, like I said before, I took a couple of months off from playing it because I thought I didn't like it 'cause it wasn't like UO. When I came back I played a Troll Warrior for a bit named Guldukaat 'til around level 10. Then I stumbled upon my very first actual character I got into, my Dark Elf Wizard named Sibaac Darkstarr. I got him up to about level 25 before the Legacy of Ykesha was released. That's when I made my first Froglok character, a warrior, named Frogo Deathstalker. All of the occurred on the Seventh Hammer server though, I didn't make the move to Bertox until the 2004 server mergers with which I had all my characters transferred. The first character I made on Bertox was Xyvorax Nyghtstarr and he became my main.

What got you into gaming and what sort of games do you like the most?
Well my friend Jeremy got me into the concept of gaming online with UO. As farm as other games though I've always had an interest in fantasy and sci-fi gaming. I played AD&D in high school, as well as the TCG Magic: The Gathering. After high school I started playing table-top RPGs like Vampire and Werewolf made by White Wolf Game Studios and their LARP versions of the same games. I also like the Final Fantasy series of games, with the exception of FF7.

What other hobbies or activities do you take part in, other then playing EverQuest?
Playing Magic, and other RPGs, like I said above. Spending time with my wife, and hanging out with my friends around the fire pit in the back yard "til all hours of the night drinking beer and smoking cigs and just generally acting like fools while we talk about everything and nothing all at the same time.

What is your highest level in EQ?
61 at the moment

What race and class is your main character?
Froglok Warrior.

What do you like the most about the class you have chosen for your main character?
I like tanking.

Does your main character worship a deity?
Mithaniel Marr

How did you choose your main character's name?
I came up with the name while I was playing the original Diablo one day. I happened to look at the book the strategy guide and was reading about the different types of enemies there were in the game. The little 4 legged creatures as a group type were called "Vorax." I thought that was kind of a cool name so I thought for minute and figured a way to rework it to my liking, creating Xyvorax (zi-VOR-axe). Before that i used the name Sibaac for my main character in UO. For that, I took the name Sybok (the name of Spock's half brother from Start Trek V: The Final Frontier) and reworked it into Sibaac (si-BOK). I have an alt Drakkin Monk named Sibaac as well.

Which classes in EQ have you NOT played?
I've not played an Enchanter simply because the class seems to be extremely expensive as far as spells and tradeskills and they don't seem to be a class I would like playing. I've also never played a Magician because they, too, never appealed to me, figuring why I need to play basically a wizard with a pet when I could just play a wizard and do massive damage. Finally, I've never played a Bard. I find that, in my opinion, they are trying to be too much at once and are on the average kind of useless all around. The class never appealed to in D&D either.

What is your favorite expansion?
Legacy of Ykesha. Gotta have my Frogloks. And maybe Planes of Power for making travel through Norrath so much easier. And even Depths of Darkhollow for opening up the Froglok race to evil classes like the Rogue and the Shadow Knight. Though if it wasn't for LoY I think I probably wouldn't have gotten as immersed into the game as I did and thereby probably wouldn't have switched servers from 7th to Bertox and met my wife.

What is your favorite zone?
Don't really have a favorite, but if I had to choose I'd probably say Kurn's Tower. I can remember spending many hours in there with most of my toons. not to mention that's the zone I first met my wife in while playing Xyvorax around level 15 or 16 and she was playing her Druid named Mariaa of around the same level.

What is your favorite NPC?
I can't really pin point any particular NPC that I like better than any other.

Which expansion do you like the least?
I wasn't to impressed by Gates of Discord, but I can't really say I don't like it seeing as how I've not spent a whole lot of time in the GoD zones.

Which zone do you like the least?
I'd probably have to say it's a toss up between the Deepest Guk instances of LDoN and the Mistmore instances of the same expansion. Mostly because when ever you wanted to do an LDoN mission most of the time all people wanted to play was the missions from the Butcherblock Wayfarer's Camp, so it kinda go played out. As far as the Deepest Guk missions, there hasn't been a single one that I've played that has been a success.

Which NPC do you like the least?
There again, I don't know of any one NPC that I like least. Though I do remember dying quite a few times to the troll bashers that roamed around in Innothule Swamp when my Frogs where very young.

What is the most platinum you have ever spent on purchasing a single item for one of your characters?
Maybe about 250K on something. Though, for the life of me, I can't remember what it was.

Do you have an item you no longer use but keep around for nostalgic reasons? If so what is it and why do you keep it?
I have a Ring of Gallantry that I don't use anymore on Xyvorax but I'll never get rid of it because it's the ring my wife gave to me as a wedding ring when our characters got married in the game Standing at the base of the waterfall in Nedaria's Landing. This happened before we ever met face to face IRL or even saw each other on the webcam.

What do you like best about EverQuest?
Things in my life back in 2004 weren't going very well. Then I met my wife in Kurn's Tower on March 8, 2005, and everything turned around.

What do you get out of playing EverQuest?
Fun, friendship, and a way to escape from the real world stress, even if for only a few hours at a time.

Describe your best experience from playing EverQuest?
I've kinda said it through several of the questions before now, but the best experience from EQ was meeting my wife. It allowed me to get a best friend and wife. She was living in Maine and I was in Georgia (roughly 1200 miles [or 960 kilometers if you use metric] apart). She moved down to GA with me in Sept 2005, were married IRL on March 8, 2007 (exactly 2 years after we met on EQ) and moved back to ME in Sept 2007. She's the best thing that ever happened to me, and ironically it's all because my ex-wife talked to into buying a game I, at the time, had no interest in playing and convinced me to try it. So I guess I should thank SOE for inventing the game and my ex-wife for making me try it out.

Do you run or work for an EverQuest Fan Site?
No
