Zatozia's Recap of the Frostfell Spirit

Frostfell was celebrated all throughout Norrath and beyond from December 9th through January 8th. It was the time of year to spend with family and friends, in-game and out-of-game and a time to display the holiday spirit. EverQuest Community Members were asked about their holiday spirit, challenged to create Frostfell carols, to decorate Norrath and asked write about their Frostfell adventures.

The Frostfell Carols

Frostfell
Written by Community Member Zanderon

Just hear the newbies leveling,
"Ding!" "Ding!" and a "Ping!" too.
Come on its lovely weather for a Kurn's plow together with you!

In the hall the raid is forming
And buffs are incoming woohoo!
Come on its lovely weather for a new raid so let's get some loot!

Frostfell's here, Frostfell's here, Frostfell's here!
Let's go!
Goblins play in the snow!
Santug's bringing gifts for everyone you know!
Frostfell's here, Frostfell's here, Frostfell's here!
It's grand!
Over sea or on land,
We adventure along with the song of Norrathian wonder lands!

In Ro the giants are dancing,
And the spectres are moaning in key!
So many great things at Frostfell,
Lets adventure together and see!

Kerafyrm the BadassDragon

You know Gorenaire and Jaled'Dar
And Phara'Dar and Severilous.
Talendor and Trakanon
And Ragefire and Aerin'Dar.
But do you recall,
The most fearsome dragon of all?

Kerafyrm the badass dragon
Had a very painful swipe
And if you ever saw it
You would even say it bites

All of the other dragons
Used to laugh and call him names
They never let poor Kerafyrm

Play in any dragon raids
Then one foggy Frostfell eve
Santug came to say

Kerafyrm with your claws so sharp
Won't you lead my raid tonight?
Then all the dragons loved him

And they shouted out with glee
Kerafyrm the badass dragon
You'll go down in history!"

Santug Baby

Bah-bum... Bah-Bum
Santug Baby, just slip new fableds under the tree, for me
I enjoy the old world
Santug Baby, so hurry down the chimney tonight.

Santug Baby, LDoN convertible too, mobs dark blue
I'll wait up for it this year
Santug Baby, so hurry down the chimney tonight

Think of all the fun I've missed,
The dungeon crawls would be bliss
Next year I could be just as good
If you check off my Frostfell list.

Santug Baby, I want new loot don't ya think that I'm cute
Been AA'ing all year
Santug Baby, so hurry down the chimney tonight.

Santug Honey, I sure could use a shopping spree, for me
At your bazaar mule,
Santug Honey, so hurry down the chimney tonight

Santug Cutie, fill my stocking with a new wrist and kiss
To increase my mana pool
Santug Cutie, so hurry down the chimney tonight.

Come and trim my Frostfell tree,
With decorations coded at SOE
I really do believe in you,
Do you believe in me?

Santug Baby, I forgot to mention one thing, a ring
I mean one with a click effect
Santug Baby, so hurry down the chimney tonight.

Hurry down the chimney tonight,
Hurry, tonight.

All I want for Frostfell
Written by Community Member Najae

I don't want a lot for Frostfell
There is just one thing I need
I don't care about the phat lewts
Underneath the corpse of Rhag III
I don't need to waste my dkp's
On gear I'll never use
Santa Claugg will make me happy
With the joy on Frostfell day
I just want EQ for my own
More than you could ever know
Sony, please make my wish come true...
All I want for Frostfell is
EQ...

Oh I won't ask for much this Frostfell
I won't even wish for my epic axe
(and I) I'm just gonna keep on waiting
Next to the bodies of yard trash
I won't make a list and send it
To San Diego to cust service
I won't even fall asleep to
Get some rest for work
I just want EQ here tonight
Holding on to camps so long
What more can I do
All I want for Frostfell is EQ
EQ...

All the spells are shining
So brightly everywhere
And the sound of a summoned jester
Laughter fills the air
And everyone is begging
I hear those loot requests a' coming
Santa Claugg won't you bring me the EQ I really need yeah

I don't want a lot for Frostfell
This is all I'm asking for
Loaded onto my computer
Oh I just want EQ for my own
More than you could ever know
Make my wish come true
All I want for Frostfell is
EQ...
All I want for Frostfell...
All I want for Frostfell is EQ...
All I want for Frostfell...
All I want for Frostfell is EQ...
All I want for Frostfell...
All I want for Frostfell is EQ...

Steven Klug is coding tonight

Spoken Monologue:
Right about this time of year, as the pale ivory of snow tiptoes down the side of my roof; when the streets of Qeynos are white with the season's icy bounty, as the priest of discord discards his stoicism and warms his hands over the campfire aside Connie Link and Guard Erabb, Ithink of a very special person. Someone who has always been there for us, someone who never sleeps, someone who works endless nights preparing gifts for all the good boys and girls of Norrath, ladies and gentlemen I refer to non-other than the one and only SK himself.

Steven Klug, this one goes out to the greatest gift-giver of all.

You better use /bug
You better not whine
You better /merclog
I'm telling you why
Steven Klug is coding tonight

He's patching on test,
And he's debugging it twice;
Gonna send Zat on the naughty (or nice!)
Steven Klug is coding tonight

He codes when you are sleeping
He codes when you're awake
He codes if you've been bad or good
So give him a raise for Goodness sake!

Oh, you better use /bug
You better not whine
You better /merclog
I'm telling you why
Steven Klug is coding tonight
Steven Klug is coding... tonight

Nuttin' For Frostfell (Nuttin' For Christmas)
Written by Community Member Kasey

I snuck my way into Naggy's lair;
Somebody snitched on me.
I cut a lock of mermaid's hair;
Somebody snitched on me.
I put a snake in the guild hall pool;
I made a guildie break a rule;
Carved my name with a fletching tool;
Somebody snitched on me.

Oh, I'm gettin' nuttin' for Frostfell
The Leader and Officers are mad.
I'm getting nuttin' for Frostfell
'Cause I ain't been nuttin' but bad.

I put a tack on Maelin's chair
somebody snitched on me.
I tied a knot in Soozee's hair
somebody snitched on me.
I did a dance on Hamila's plants
P V P'ed and tore my pants
Filled Renloe's Bakery with ants
somebody snitched on me.

So, I'm gettin' nuttin' for Frostfell
The Leader and Officers are mad.
I'm gettin' nuttin' for Frostfell
'Cause I ain't been nuttin' but bad.

I won't be seeing Santug Claugg;
Somebody snitched on me.
He won't come visit me because
Somebody snitched on me.
Next year I'll be going straight;
Next year I'll be good, just wait
I'd start now, but it's too late;
Somebody snitched on me.

So you better be good whatever you do
'Cause if you're bad, I'm warning you,
You'll get nuttin' for Frostfell.

The Frostfell Adventures

Dreaming of a White Frostfell -- by Egil Greyskull
Written by Community Member preacher413

After a most strenuous semester, time was sequestered. And Egil the Barbarian was in Norrath once again.

He arose from his nap, took a glance at his map. BOOM! The barbarian jumped with a scare. He peeked his head outside and to his surprise saw fireworks dancing in air. "Frostfell is here!" He heard shouted with cheer

But this wasn't what he was expecting.

As a young Halas lad this Barbarian had, related Santug with snow and wouldn't you know. He couldn't stick round with no snow on the ground. It was certainly time to adventure. Egil looked left and looked right with all of his might. Until he found the local travel agent. Franklin Teek had a list of places not for the weak.

"What about snow?" Egil asked then Teek showed. A brochure for Valdeholm and its frosty raiments. The Barbarian scratched his dome,"How is that a hot zone?" As he set off for Valdeholm's gates

When he arrived on the scene all was serene. The snow brought back memories of Halas. Kicking up flakes as he entered the gates.

With a chuckle he stopped at the springs. A hot zone with snow, Egil now knows that at Frostfell there's no place like Valdeholm.

The Missing Snowglobe
Written by Community Member Malleria

Our tale begins on the eve of Frostfell. The Plane of Knowledge was all a-tinder, with excited children and plentiful cheer. Last minute preparations were being put into place, and little children's wishes floated up into space. People scurrying this way and that, wondering "oh dear, where did I put my hat?"

But one creature was near who was not full of cheer. Skulking through shadow, eyes squinted to peer. This creature bitter of the good people's happiness; himself angry and hateful and full of crabbiness. For a goblin, Frostfell is not a time of joy, but instead a time to plot, scheme and ploy!

On this terrible year the evil goblin came to Knowledge, intent on a scheme so dastardly and bold it had never been tried before. Slipping silently past the guards, the goblin made his way through the great library, and began scaling the elevator shaft. Stealthily creeping through the high council's room, he reached out his grubby hands and grasped the great Frostfell Snowglobe! With a startled cry the Grand Librarian saw, and rushed to stop him, but too late! The evil goblin began murmuring a spell, and in a shimmer of magic evaded his capture.

But hope was not lost, for at the very same time our heroine approached. Having been summoned to the tower, Malleria did not wish to be late. But when she arrived she found the room in a sorry state! With a tear in his eye great Maelin cried "You must catch him, before it is too late!"

And so Malleria did; following the evil goblins trail to Qeynos and beyond. Across the rolling hills, and watchful towers our heroine tracked, determined to save Frostfell and not to be smacked!

Into the great fortress of Blackburrow they went, every minute the distance growing nearer, deep into the gnoll infested caverns she went, until the trail stopped without a trace. A store-room of sorts, strangely void of life. All was lost and Malleria ready to weep, when suddenly appeared the goblin with a bodyguard of gnoll! Preparing to strike, the ambush complete, the goblin summoned his dreaded powers.

Regaining her strength and desperate to retrieve, summoning the fire that burned strongly in her chest and let out a mighty blast to remove this pest!

Shrieking and frightened the gnolls fled, and bereft of his guard so too did the goblin, scorched and bled. The chase went on, across the plains of Everfrost; the shifting snow and ranging animals making the trailever harder to follow. Into an abandoned mine the goblin ran, fearing the sun might give him a tan!

Following down into the depths of night, our heroine continued courageous and bright. Coming finally to a large open room, the goblin glaring coldly with an evil "Welcome."

Wasting no time, and with a quickness in her step, Malleria launched her attack, blasting fire and death.

But no matter how much power our heroine released, the goblin stood tall, bitter and defiant. Taunting and jeering with a wave of the Snowglobe, the fight turned to melee, savage and cold. Claw met silk, and staff met hide, but neither combatant would give up their pride.

When each was locked in strength of arms, a misplaced blow sent them back in calm, and the great Snowglobe was launched through the air and an audible gasp accompanied each soul's stare. Bouncing hard to the ground, but unbroken, the Snowglobe fulfilled its purpose and began to glow; for the Snowglobe had a very special purpose. On the eve of Frostfell it's shaking and snowing summons forth Santug to bring joy and presents to every child's home. And appear he did, chuckling and red, great Santug stood bobbing his head. With a twinkle in his eye, and a stride for a step, he approached the little goblin, who cowered and begged. Having risked so much, and evil to the core, with little choice Santug performed his chore. With a squeal and a cry Santug sat on his body, until little remained but a pancake flat gobbie!

Turning to our heroine, he offered her the globe, and bade her farewell to return it to its abode. Before she could react, Malleria found herself in the Knowledge library once more, returning the Snowglobe to a very flustered gnome.

Feeling tired from her quest, placing her staff in the chest. Our heroine crawled into bed and promptly fell asleep, but not before whispering...

"Merry Frostfell"
