Server: Cazic-Thule

Guild: Hellfire Club

Where in the real life world do you live?
Auckland, New Zealand

How long have you played EQ?
Since 2001. Seems like forever :)

What other MMOs have you played?
Played WoW for 6 months - was too easy after having played EQ

What type of work do you do?
I'm a student in my 3rd year at college

How long is your typical gaming session when playing EQ?
4-10 hours, depends what else is up

What does a typical EQ day consist of for you?
Raiding on raid nights, grouping up with my girlfriend and either finding a group or just duoing quests. We have a number of toons that we pair up, so finding something to do isn't difficult.

What was the race and class of your very first character?
Gnome Necromancer! God I miss him.

What got you into gaming and what sort of games do you like the most?
My brother was introduced to EQ through a friend of his - unfortunately he didn't really like it, but I loved it, so stuck with it. Any sort of fantasy roleplay game suits me. Big fan of most DnD based systems.

What other hobbies or activities do you take part in, other then playing EverQuest?
Besides study and work there's not much time for anything else! I'm a big movie person, and as I mentioned I'm keenly interested in fantasy roleplay.

What is your highest level in EQ?
85

What race and class is your main character?
Dark Elf, Magician

What do you like the most about the class you have chosen for your main character?
Having my own personal tank. :P And with the changes in SoD, mages really pack a punch.

Does your main character worship a deity?
Innoruuk

How did you choose your main character's name?
I was originally planning a dark elf necromancer, and was trying to think of suitable names. The twist on Malaria seemed a good idea, but then I created a mage instead :P

Which classes in EQ have you NOT played?
Shaman, Cleric, Ranger, Rogue.. think I've played the rest... I've boxed all these classes at some point but never had the drive to create and play one myself.

What is your favorite expansion?
Gates of Discord - really challenging raid events are the best aspect of EQ in my opinion. Its unfortunate new and interesting scripts are in short supply, and we see the repeat of the same fights, but GoD really tested raiding guilds and I loved it.

What is your favorite zone?
Uqua! For the same reason GoD is my favourite expansion. It really tested my guild and pushed us to do our best. A real challenge.

What is your favorite NPC?
Tolapumj! I love that little guy.

Which expansion do you like the least?
Legacy of Ykesha - wasn't much to it, not a lot of raiding and I was already past that point in levels. Plus the quested spells are often a PITA to get.

Which zone do you like the least?
Paludal Caverns - not sure why, just never liked the place.

Which NPC do you like the least?
Kildrukaun the Ancient (sleepers tomb version). Nearly immune to spells and unresistable ae slow? NO THANKS

What is the most platinum you have ever spent on purchasing a single item for one of your characters?
Hum, tough to remember. I wanna say around 300k, but I can't for the life of me remember what it was for.

Do you have an item you no longer use but keep around for nostalgic reasons? If so what is it and why do you keep it?
My Greatstaff of Power. I have a serious soft spot for 2h staffs on casters, even though they're quite often worse stats-wise than 2 1h items. I thought, and still do think, it has one of the best graphics in the game, not to mention a neat proc. I carry it with me always just because i'm proud to have one.

What do you like best about EverQuest?
The people, without a doubt. There are a lot of unfriendly people around, but the ones you do become friends with are worth the effort.

What do you get out of playing EverQuest?
Friends, a sense of accomplishment, and a good time.

Describe your best experience from playing EverQuest?
The first time my guild killed Vrex Barxt Qurat, and finished Uqua. Everyone was dead except one paladin and a freshly rezed cleric and the paladin somehow managed to kite Barxt and all the adds around the room for damn near 20 minutes while the raid rezed, rebuffed and reengaged. It was an amazing moment :)
