Memories of the Past Ten

Norrath – a place we all call home and have for many years.  We've traveled the halls of various cities, we've fought against Giants and dragons, sought treasures only dreamed of in childhood and come to the aid of countless Norrathians as the time has passed.

Tears of joy streamed from our faces with each new triumph and tears of sadness slid slowly down our cheeks as we watched our fellow allies retire and move on to the void. 

Laughter filled the air each time we saw Fippy lead a revolt against Qeynos, never can you say another gnoll tried harder.

Sobs filled the silence as we remember traveling through Kithicor's dank, dark and dangerous forest when the sun set over the horizon.

The memories and nostalgia are forever with us, and will be for as long as Norrath exists.  New memories will enter our soul, but will never replace the old.  The stories are countless, the adventures many, the people unforgetable.

As Erollisi Marr celebrated the past ten years last week with a party hosted by Norrath's one and only true Torturess, Zatozia, and the lovely Amnerys, the Erollisi Enquirer interviewed the guests of the party to get their fondest (and some not so fond) memories of the past ten.

Question: What are some of your most fondest memories of the past ten years?

Binxs –
A day I died on the ramp in East Karana as I was running from Qeynos to Freeport.  Took me 2 hours to get back to my corpse only to die 2 minutes later.

Crystilla –
First open raid with the guild, back in 2002 on the Plane of Fear.  Clerics were told to bind on the west wall.  We tried to break in off the west wall and ended up in a death loop galore.  Four very helpful guilds later and 5 long hours, we were finally bailed out.

Best moment for me was how the server came together to bail out an unknown cleric (me) on our small guild's first attempt at Ragefire for my 1.0 epic.

We triggered, wiped and guilds came together, kited Ragefire, rezzed and buffed us and helped kill him for me.

Folks I'd never known before and who didn't know me. That was server bonding.'

Dyemond –
My best and most favorite raid and time is when we used to have a race with other guilds to kill everything in Vex Thall.

My Epic 1.0 felt like a huge acomplishment when it was finally completed.

I miss hearing /ooc WTS bag of stuff at 1st torch  - hail me for a look!

The first rumors of a dungeon called Lower Guk and actually exploring it, even the repetitive deaths were a ton of fun and added to the enjoyment.

The first time ever leaving Neriak Forest because someone said there was a nice place to kill in East Commonlands called Orc1! – ha!

Furorr –
The fondest memory for me was our first Vox Raid.  We thought it would be just like Naggy.  Raid, clear, buff circle where you buff everyone and camp to chat so your buffs wouldn't wear off. 

It was amusing seeing giants and even Vox herself being trained to bind spots only to find out the giants repop faster than anticipated.  The dying over and over trying to kill this white dragon.

Kelvan –
My favorite moment was when I pulled a Notebook mission for a few friends and happened to get every single spider in the zone!

Kinerinu –
Staring at spellbooks while medding!

Littlebits –
I miss when Freeport was the main city and you had to run or take boats to travel and actually run to get your corpse.  – Four hour corpse runs!  Remember those times?

Meriel –
Lining everyone up to buff one by one for raids, then camping out while others got buffed to try and "save" your buffs.  Joining chat screens while waiting to come back and hoping your buffs didn't fade while everyone logged back in.

Sylina –
Best times were anytime the clerics trained the monks.

Oh yeah...keeping the sound up loud so you could hear if a monster was creeping up on you.  Fun times.

Citadel of Anguish

Crystilla –
Dreadspire and Plane of Fire

Dyemond –
Neriak Forest, before the revamp.  So many good memories and a lot of good friends that I met there.

Korafax

NToV! – Best raid zone ever.

Jotaro –
Crystal Caverns.  I love that place.  You could live in Crystal Caverns for the rest of your days, there is a merchant, a bank, frozen dwarves, fun music and the geonids drop nice gems.  What's not to love?

Citadel of Anguish

Temple of Frozen Shadows, one of the more interesting zones around!

Luvible –
West Freeport

Meriel –
West Freeport – enjoyed buffing people as they traveled through.

Stabbi –
Neriak Third Gate, they have all the Red Wine and a Dancer to take care of you for a while

Veeshan's Peak

  • The days before lobby and having bodies brought to you
  • Dying in Seb and having to go get your bodies!
  • No Shroud of Stealth!

I'd do it in SoS so I wouldn't be murded everytime.

Furorr –
Well first I wouldn't run straight to the guards =p

Jeej –
I wouldn't try to run the gates every 7 minutes.  Predicitablility doesn't help in warfare.

Jotaro –
I would have charged the city and looted some food and beer!

Kelvan –
I would get 10000 more gnolls to help lol.

Kinerinu –
I would think of a better path so I wouldn't get killed so much.

Kobetai –
I might get some aa's level up a little, change out my gear, and get a better strat.

Stabbi –
I would drink more, so I would pass out every once and a while.

I would bring more gnolls with me.

I would be Brell, so he could actually come out from hiding for once

Dyemond –
Naggy

Furorr –
Rallos Zek and go to Rivervale and kill all the hobbits.

Jeej –
The Priest of Discord.... make people be pvp'rs permanently.

Jotaro –
I'd be Tallon Zek... and keep knocking back people that came near me.

Kelvan –
I would be Fippy...go run through more towns lol not just Qeynos.

Kinerinu –
I would have to say a Magus, So I could send peoples to the wrong zones!

Vesheen

Luvible –
Just take control of MMM while someone is killing him and start killin off clerics.

Cazic Thule, run around Plane of Knowledge and mega snare anyone in my path.
