Meet
Hasmonean Ruachelohim

Server: Xegony

Guild: Machin Shin

Where in the real life world do you live?
Nixa, Missouri, USA

How long have you played EQ?
8+ years

What other MMOs have you played?
There are other MMOs!? Why!?

What type of work do you do?
I’m an editor/age consultant for a publishing company.

How long is your typical gaming session when playing EQ?
5+ hours

What does a typical EQ day consist of for you?
Most of my playtime is consumed with raiding (which I love). But, I also enjoy soloing (Toskirakk is my current favorite location) and the occasional burn group.

What was the race and class of your very first character?
Human, Wizard

What got you into gaming and what sort of games do you like the most?
I got into gaming when my household got its first Atari and I became addicted to Q-Bert! When I hit college I found Everquest at a store and decided to try it, and now it is my favorite and ONLY game.

What other hobbies or activities do you take part in, other then playing EverQuest?
I am a music junkie and also play guitar in a band.

What is your highest level in EQ?
85 w/ almost 2800 AAs

What race and class is your main character?
Erudite, Enchanter

What do you like the most about the class you have chosen for your main character?
I get to be a major control freak and it is praised rather than chastised!

Does your main character worship a deity?
Yes, Quellious because she is a cute little kid!

How did you choose your main character's name?
I was taking a class in biblical Hebrew at the time and wanted something interesting and unique with a Hebrew flair. Hasmonean comes from an important Jewish ruling family, and Ruachelohim is a Hebrew phrase that is translated, depending on context, as “breath of God.”

Which classes in EQ have you NOT played?
Warrior, Shadow Knight, Berserker, Monk, Bard, Beastlord, and Rogue

What is your favorite expansion?
As far as raid and group content, my favorite was Planes of Power. As far as what an expansion gave to my class and game playability, my favorite is Secrets of Faydwer.

What is your favorite zone?
This is a difficult question for me because I like several zones, but I think I would say either Plane of Time or Dreadspire.

What is your favorite NPC?
Rallos Zek If I could have any illusion in game, it would be him and his pimptastic axe.

Which expansion do you like the least?
Legacy of Ykesha

Which zone do you like the least?
I cannot stand the Plane of Fear even though it is trivial now. I came close to losing all my gear there too many times!

Which NPC do you like the least?
It probably sounds silly now, but I still absolutely hate the wolves in Dawnshroud Peaks. It always seemed that when I had a rockhopper, stonegrabber, or zelniak almost dead, one of those stupid wolves would add and take me out.

What is the most platinum you have ever spent on purchasing a single item for one of your characters?
I spent 400k (which was mainly from loans) for a copy of Voice of Quellious after three, failed Glyphed Rune Word turn-ins that each yielded a copy of Illusion Froglok!

Do you have an item you no longer use but keep around for nostalgic reasons? If so what is it and why do you keep it?
I actually have a few of these, but the most sentimental is my Blessed Coldain Prayer Shawl because of what it symbolizes. It was the first item I received that was a result of others’ unselfish efforts to help me achieve a personal goal.

What do you like best about EverQuest?
I think I like the ability to improve my character through various means (levels, AAs, gear, augmentations, etc). It seems like there is always something I can be doing to make my character better.

What do you get out of playing EverQuest?
I still really enjoy playing the game with the many of the wonderful people I have become friends with, but the most important thing I got from Everquest is my wife, whom I first met in-game!

Describe your best experience from playing EverQuest?
I think the experience that gave me one of the best memories and feelings was finally beating Quarm at like 1 or 2am when I had to be up to get ready for work at 5am.

Do you run or work for an EverQuest Fan Site?
I don’t run a website, but I did create the banner and some digital art for my guild’s website (www.machinshin.org).
