Ten things you would add/change – discussion started by Community Member zip
If you had the opportunity to add or change 10 things about EverQuest that you feel would make it more user-friendly, what would they be? zip's list:

  1. Potion reuse timer on mouse over.
  2. Ability reuse timer on mouse over of hot button (like on AAs you have put on a hot button. Would be nice to just mouse-over the button and see the reuse timer).
  3. All potions should be non-interruptible. How does a mob interrupt your drinking of a potion? Getting interrupted on swallowing a potion is just odd to me.
  4. Steadfast Servant Veteran AA should be zoneable. The people that use this veteran reward the most are most likely the low level characters cause they are soloing and need the heals. Nothing ruins a night of play more then popping your Steadfast Servant AA and getting run out of the zone on the first pull only to lose your Steadfast Servant.
  5. UI Save feature. I am meticulous about how I setup my user interface in game. I create extra text windows, create text windows just for incoming and outgoing melee damage, position all my windows a special way, etc. It annoys the heck out of me that every time I make a new alt, I have to do this all again. I would kill for a UI Save feature, so I could make my in game custom UI once, save it, and apply it to all characters when ever I need it.
  6. Tree formatted Alternate Advancement window. For the typical EverQuest junky that has been playing EQ for years, the traditional look of the AA window is common place. For new people to the game, it is daunting to say the least. You have to figure out which AAs on which tabs are required before the others and so forth. It would be awesome to see a tree type AA window instead, so that you can see exactly what AAs come before others and such.
  7. Camera spin around character with mouse. Almost all MMORPGs these days give you the ability to easily spin around your character at any point by simply holding down the left mouse button and moving the mouse.
  8. Built in mini-web browser. Just about everybody uses various web sites to look up quests, tradeskill combines, etc. It would be nice to not have to alt-tab out of EQ to do a quick check on something.
  9. The ability to bypass server select and character select upon boot up of game. Maybe put in a command line sequence that allows you to put server name and character name in the command line. That way there people could make shortcuts on their desktop to load up a particular character and not have to bother with any selection screens at all.
  10. Give option to see your crit values displayed in big easy to read letters over the mob. Of course it would have to be an option to turn on or off because some people would prefer the old style where no numbers pop up on the screen.

Stat, food, the ignorance – discussion started by Community Member Pilot
I was going through the bags of my guildies recently... looking for toons that I could help upgrade and I was surprised by how many guys have iron rations and water for their food. I was toting rat streaks from the get go and Misty thicket picnics when I was financially able. And of course similar drinks... Is this a wide spread ignorance? I gotta get these guys some good food, they are sadly lacking stats.

Illusion Clicky Lore – discussion started by Community Member Eriient
The post on end game clickys got me started on this and have been looking for lore. Sadly little to no info found so I am turning to the lore community for a little help.

If you could design... – discussion started by Community Member Email
I thought it would be fun to turn the tables on the Vets. Instead of complaints, let's get some of your ideas for some of the things you would like to see implemented in EQ. If you could design one UNIQUE Zone, NPC, Task, MM, Quest, Item, etc. in EQ what would it be (provide details) and why would you consider it fun & unique.

What class would you never... – discussion started by Community Member muv_rog
Personally, the last class I would ever play is a ranger. Again, rangers don't suck at all and I am always glad to have their DPS in group which can be awesome. But they simply don't have anything that attracts me to play that class. Archery simply isn't enough for me. A close second would be beastlords.

EverQuest Trivia #295 – game started by Community Member Tadenea, the winner of EverQuest Trivia #294.
Tadena is still waiting for someone to guess this trivia question. Here's a summary of guesses the guesses far:

  • It is Not a Corpse, Mob, Item, Effect, Faction, Place, Aug, Instance server or Spell.
  • It is Not Alive.
  • Is it found in Buried Sea Zone (Zone not entire Expansion itself) .
  • It is not a Ships Mast.
  • It can be found above the surface of Water.
  • It is found on an Island that has Raptors.
  • I think I can clarify this. The "work of a sentient species" would be structures that require a thinking mind to create. E.g. bridges, statues, cities, golems.
    -then the answer is yes

Does it appear to have come to be via the work of a sentient species?
This means 'man-made' (or some other... let's say 'language using' species) as opposed to being created by 'nature' (continental drift, erosion, ants, beavers, etc.). -Yes

    Is it Part of Lore?
-It might be, but far as we know it is not

Is it Observable by a character?
    -Yes

Is it something players can destroy?
-well the thing I am thinking of can't be.
-but in another form this thing has been destroyed you can say.

Is it an event that occurs once per year for a period of about 2 weeks to a month?
    -No

If you were to type it out, would it be capitalized?
-I can not give a yes or no Answer due to people may spell it differently basically its on personal preference on that quest

Is it bigger than a barbarian?
    -Yes it is bigger

Can you interact with it? Meaning clicking it produces a tangible result.
    -Nope

    Is it a structure?
-Yes you could say it is a structure of some kind

Can you interact with it? Meaning clicking it produces a tangible result.
    -Nope

Is it found in exactly one zone?
-Well as far as I know it's only found in one zone (minus Instance Version)
